A Leather partition focused on how to partition a space.
Neither hard and thick wooden walls nor lightweight fabric curtains, but something in between.
60mm diameter circle leathers are layered together, creating lace-like voids in between, and it is freestanding supported with a steel frame.
I tried to eliminate the presence of the legs as much as possible, so that there’s only the strength of delineating the space.
About the material, this leather is upcycled ones from scraps produced during the manufacturing process of bags and shoes. Here I selected and used high-quality thick black leather from Annonay, France.

空間の間仕切り方をテーマとした革のパーテション。
かたい木の壁でもなく、やわらかい布のカーテンでもない、その間となるような在り方。
直径60mmの革を、レースのような抜けをつくりながら重ね合わせ、スチールフレームにより自立させた。
脚はなるべく存在感を無くし、空間を間仕切る強度だけが存在するようにした。
革は、鞄や靴の製造過程で産出される端材をアップサイクルしたもの。
フランス・アノネイ社の上質な厚手の黒を選別し使用した。
